No doubt, there are a lot of incredible fly reels out there. Ross Reels, Abel Reels, Nautilus Reels, and Taylor Fly Reels are all high quality fly reels, just to name a few. This gives fly anglers a plethora of options to choose from. Working in a fly shop in Fort Worth, Texas, I was lucky to have a lot of options. However, since I received my first Hatch reel 6 years ago, I have not purchased another reel other than Hatch Outdoor’s Finatic Series.

Fly fishing can be easy, and fly fishing can be difficult. Is there really a right or wrong in either way?

Fly fishing allows for men (and women) to find peace in a chaotic world where we are often in sensory overload with the constant sounds and sights of bustling cities. 

Comprised of four dedicated outdoorsmen and fly fishing enthusiasts, Western Waters Media has released some incredible films for the International Fly Fishing Film Festival and more. Western Waters Media was founded by Cortney Boice, Phil Tuttle, Spencer Higa, and Derek Olthuis.

As a trout bum and fly fishing addict at heart, I spend a good amount of time exploring the internet trying to find my daily dose of fly fishing porn. Like most would say, I do not spend near enough time on the water as I would like to. However, the rise of digital and social platforms has allowed for me, as well as many others, to enjoy the stories and camaraderie of other fly fishermen across the world. I decided to put together a list of my top five fly fishing videos and films in the hopes that others will find these videos exciting and informative.
